Community Development

Recognizing that housing is only one component of a healthy, viable community, RCHA works to support the economic and social foundation of the region.

YouthBuild Program

Through its YouthBuild Program, RCHA provides young adults with GED training, construction experience, and critical workplace skills. Many students have now graduated from the YouthBuild Program and have gone on to employment in the construction field, pursuit of a different calling or to higher education.

Downtown Revitalization

RCHA also provides support for downtown revitalization efforts, either through direct project management or through our partner organizations. Restoration and reuse of buildings in our town centers is an essential ingredient of community vitality. RCHA is committed to providing support to local government and organizations in their efforts to maintain, restore and rejuvenate their town and community centers.

Community Planning

As a recipient of a Community Challenge Grant, in 2012 RCHA conducted studies of housing and transportation across Randolph county, and in a few specific communities. The findings from these studies are helping to shape how RCHA will direct its efforts and invest its resources in the coming years. RCHA continues to work diligently to respond to the housing needs of Randolph County residents, and to help support other needed community services, such as transportation, in the area.
