The historic First Ward School Apartments Complex is an attractive, low-income senior community. The complex is located in the beautifully converted First Ward School near downtown Elkins, WV. The building has been renovated with many modern conveniences, including:

Each apartment is equipped with a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. Though we have a common onsite laundry facility, laundry hookups are also available for each unit. Pets are permitted (limited to one animal per apartment, weighing 30 pounds or less). All apartments are non-smoking.

Safety and Accessibility
As a senior community, the apartments were designed with accessibility and safety in mind. Each apartment has wide doorways and halls, grab bars, and walk-in showers. The building has an elevator and controlled-access entries, as well.
In addition, the housing staff works closely with local senior programs to coordinate services for residents. Many valuable services are available onsite, including hourly bus stops by Country Roads Transit. The Healthy Home Program is also available to tenants in Randolph and Tucker County who are interested in setting and achieving health and wellness goals.
