The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is designed to provide financial assistance seniors and individuals with disabilities and/or low incomes afford safe, secure housing. Those with valid housing vouchers are able to select any type of housing that meets HUD requirements and whose owner is a participating landlord. If you have good credit, a clean rental history and criminal record, you are unlikely to encounter any issues finding a landlord willing to accept your voucher. Once you receive your voucher, it can be used anywhere in the United States.
