YouthBuild Vocational Training Programs
YouthBuild North Central WV offers hands-on training in high-demand industries. You can get the skills, experience, and certifications you need to secure a well-paying job. The program is built around three core areas: educational training, leadership development, and hands-on job training in construction or healthcare. You’ll also receive training in retail and hospitality.
Construction Training
- Learn all phases of construction while building affordable housing in your community.
- Earn the Home Builders Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Certification (HBI PACT), a nationally recognized credential.
- Gain hands-on experience while working on community projects. You’ll learn safety, construction math, blueprint reading, green building, and more.
Healthcare Training
- Prepare for a career in the fast-growing healthcare field with our MedPrep and Home Health Care Aide Certification
- Gain real-world experience through job shadowing and training with local health providers.
- Participate in community college classes and earn a six-week certificate in healthcare-related fields.

YouthBuild participants receive a stipend every two weeks based on attendance and participation. This financial support helps cover basic expenses while you build skills, earn certifications, and prepare for your career.
